Audacity AI Tools (Free AI Plugins – OpenVINO)
To be honest I can’t remember whether I posted this one before or not but due to a recent audio problem I had I thought I’d post it anyway.
A few months back(?) Intel released a free set of A.I. audio plugins compatible with Audacity the free digital audio workstation.
There are four tools included which are:
- Noise suppression.
- Speech to text transcription.
- A music generator that can either create music from a prompt or extend the music from an existing track.
- Music Separation which can separate a mono or stereo track into individual stems as well Drums, Bass, Vocals, & Other Instruments.
I don’t really use the the transcription tool or the music generator but I am always interested in a new noise suppression feature.
I rarely get to record audio in pristine conditions so anything like that is always welcome.
In my testing I have found that this A.I. noise reducer works very well under certain circumstances but sometimes the built-in Audacity module is better.
My point is that when it comes to reducing background noise it is always handy to have more than one way to skin a cat up your sleeve. (See what I did there?)
In Depth CapCut Video Editing Tutorial
One of the relatively recent additions to the world of video editing has been CapCut which is produced by the same people that created TikTok.
Originally it appeared as a sort of “add-on” to the existing TikTok platform but it was then spun off into a standalone product in itself.
Now full disclosure here: I don’t personally use CapCut for any of my editing currently because I already have an established workflow in other software.
Part of that workflow is Filmora so to be honest I could easily swap Filmora out and replace it with CapCut.
My point is that just because I don’t use it doesn’t mean it is an inferior product.
In fact even at the free level it is a really good video editing solution.
I am more familiar with Filmora and as such can work with it far more efficiently because I don’t have to think about what I am doing to get what I need done.
Anyhoo if you are looking around for an editor CapCut will serve you well and to that end here’s an “end-to-end” walkthrough of a project in CapCut.
Fix Issues of Bad Horizontal and Dull Color in Your Footage
Very often when you are out and about shooting on the fly, things can unfold very quickly!
The result of “shootin’ from the hip is most commonly dull looking footage due to relying on auto settings or a misaligned horizons or objects.
My view on this is that it is always better to get the shot and worry about the details later because you may never get another chance.
In light of that here are some tips for correcting footage like that in PowerDirector.
10 AWESOME Tricks That’ll Make Your Video Editing 10x Faster
There are some great tips and tricks here for making your editing experience faster and more enjoyable but I think the first one is the most important.
That tips is to not go shopping around from one editor to another trying to find the “best” one. Wake up!
There is no “best” one! There are a bunch of really good ones aimed at various levels of the market and the harsh reality is that most of them are pretty much the same with only minute differences.
The BEST ONE is the one you choose and then decide to learn to the highest standard you can.
In fact if you check out video tutorials by the top guys using very high end software they all make a point of telling the audience that it is not the software that makes the difference.
It is always the monkey pushing the buttons that determines what the results will be.
How to Import Files into Filmora 13 Tutorial For Beginners
I don’t think importing assets into any video editing software is a particularly difficult process for anyone!
However the reason I am including this video is because Jacky raises some good points.
When most people start off using editing software they are just happy to get the footage in!
However that’s usually because they are only dealing with one or two files and are finding their way around.
It doesn’t take too long before they start to add more and more to their projects and very quickly one of the key factors in editing becomes apparent.
That factor is organization.
I have friends who edit at the feature movie level and they always spend a lot of time organizing their footage and assets before they even think about editing.
So once you work out how to import the next thing is to work out how to incorporate that process into organizing your footage so you don’t spend hours searching for stuff!
Best Camera App For Android in 2024
One of the things I have been doing over the past year or so has been adding a second camera to my fixed point shooting sessions.
By that I mean shooting footage of a person delivering some kind of presentation whether it is a headshot or a three quarter body shot.
I have been doing this because it allows me to choose cuts from a secondary angle that break up the constant front-on shots for interest.
I can also use the “b-roll” footage to hide cuts in the presentation where I have had to cut mid sentence and it would have looked a little rough.
In order to do this I have definitely not gone out and bought a new camera!
What I have been doing is using my Samsung tablet for these shots which gives good (not great) quality.
Once I get the footage into my software I can use color matching to get it all looking pretty close.
One thing I am now using that is making my life so much better is an App on the tablet that allows me control over the camera settings and lets me lock those in for the duration of the shooting session.
The App I am using now is the Black Magic one which you can see reviewed below.

5 Workflow tips to Make Fusion go Fast! – DaVinci Resolve Tutorial
If you have finally bitten the proverbial bullet and have been delving into the Fusion Page of DaVinci Resolve then this is the one for you!
At times Fusion can seem impossibly complicated and overly fiddly but the reason for that is simple.
Fusion was actually designed for projects at the “Hollywood Blockbuster” level of special effects compositing and as such needs to have an enormous number of dials and switches and settings and who knows what!
Coming at it as a beginner and only requiring very simple actions is like trying fly the Space Shuttle to the local supermarket to pick up milk.
Here are some quick tips for using Fusion to try to make things a little simpler.
