Facebook Reels Settings in 2025
Back in the day the only thing we really had to learn and deal with was how to use our video editor to get our projects finished and uploaded.
Those days are well and truly over and these days we also have to know the individual quirks of every form of video and all the platforms as well!
It never ends!
Anyway here’s an update on specifically dealing with video for FaceBook Reels.
Bring Images to Life – Image to Video AI – PowerDirector
This is one of the new AI modules in CyberLink PowerDirector that takes an existing video as a base then changes the characters in that video to your own using your images.
Within the current of AI in general this is not a hugely powerful tool when compared to some of the big players but it’s not really aiming for that kind of output.
What this would be perfect for is some quick footage of something you don’t have that can be inserted into an existing project.
Check out the video and you will get the picture.
How to Use Text Masks with Video Backgrounds
This is a run through of a feature in PowerDirector that allows you to create titles as masks.
Now normally you and I would be using titles to create titles right?
Within the titling module of any video editing software these days, there will be a fair amount of control offered as to how those titles are going to look and behave on the screen.
However you can extend that functionality even further if you stop using the titles module and start creating titles as masks.
Check out the video below to get an idea of what is possible.
5 Mistakes Small YouTube Channels Make (2025)
This is just a quick video but it makes some great points especially for YouTube creators that are still trying to build an audience.
There is a lot of information available online as to what you are supposed to be doing and what not to be doing.
Some of it is true and some of it… well maybe not so much!
There is a tendency for people to be jumping on bandwagons without really testing what actually works.
Bezier Path Like a Pro: Mastering the Art of Text Animations in Filmora
There is a new update to Filmora 14 for this week but let’s face it, there’s always a new update for Filmora!
OK, it may not be every week but sometimes it feels like it.
This one is pretty cool actually and is quite an advanced feature that you would usually have to go way up the video editing food chain to get a hold of.
It’s called Bezier Path text which of course communicates absolutely nothing to anyone!
So here’s what it is.
Bezier paths apply to text and are kind of like motion paths where you get the text to follow a certain path.
However when you use a motion path the entire text moves as one object.
With a bezier path, the text is animated along the described path changing shape as it goes along.
So you can get the text to move across an outline or shape in the video you are working on.
Anyway rather than have me bang on about it, here’s a video showing it in action.
FlexClip – AI Video Generator
I don’t have any great need for AI video creation given that I shoot and edit all my own stuff.
However there is one exception to this and that is for very short snippets of B-roll.
Often if I am stuck and don’t really have the time or ability to shoot b-roll, I fall back on some of these AI tools to create it for me.
The key to this is that you really need to give any AI model very clear instructions through your Prompt as to exactly what it is you need.
Here’s the FlexClip one in action.
One thing to note here is that once you have your footage it really helps to have an editing program that lets you “shot match” the color so that you AI footage doesn’t stick out too much.
The FREE Zoom Tool for DaVinci Resolve 19 – Magic Zoom!
This is a great little free tool for DaVinci Resolve that I use very often.
As is usually the case with any effect in Resolve, doing something simple can get a little complicated because the software is designed for professional editors.
Those pro’s demand all sorts of control over any process so you inevitably end up with a bunch choices most of us mere mortals don’t really understand or need.
Zooming, especially when you are using it to break up long single camera shoots, is a very effective technique but as I said, in Resolve it can be a little tedious.
Enter the Magic Zoom tool from MrAlexTech which allows you to add zooms as adjustment layers then save them for reuse which is really handy and a huge time saver.

Save Your Custom Effects & Animations – DaVinci Resolve
This is an important tip that although shown in DaVinci Resolve should be used in whatever software you are using.
There is a feature in most editing software called an adjustment layer.
The purpose of an adjustment layer is to apply an effect, effects or changes to anything located underneath it on the timeline.
The reason for an adjustment layer, rather than simply applying a change directly to the clip you are dealing with is simple
When you have completed your project you can save the adjustment layer as an effect in your effects library and use it over and over again.
For example I often need to blur one of my client’s videos while she has large text on the screen explaining an important point.
Instead of cutting the clip twice to get a start and end point and then applying a blur effect to the clip I just slap a preset adjustment layer that blurs the clip automatically.
I can then just change the length of the adjustment layer to the desired timing and I am done. So much faster.
50+ (FREE) Mapping Tools
While making or using maps may not be a huge part of your video making process, sometimes there comes a time when you need one.
In the video below Boone covers an interesting website that serves a very specific “map using” community.
Now bear in mind these guys are the super geeks of the “map in video” world but that’s a good thing because they have resources up the kazoo!
