Learn Fusion in 10 Minutes – Beginner Tutorial for DaVinci Resolve

OK so the reality is that the Fusion Page in DaVinci Resolve is two basic things.

The first is that along with the Color Page it is the most powerful module offering the ability to create fully professional effects.

The second is that it is a nightmare to learn and the experience would be comparable to being dumped in the cockpit of a 747 and told to just go for it!

Fortunately we have Casey Faris to the rescue here and in the 10 minute video below you can at least get your foot in the door and maybe the engines started.

Remove Any Video Background (Smart Cutout) – Filmora

Well it’s all a bit “Filmora” this week but I guess that is to be expected a week after a major release!

This is another of the new A.I. features that came out with Filmora 13 and in reality is a bit of a combination effect.

First up it is A.I. driven meaning that it relies on a vast database of previously analyzed videos to make accurate predictions of what a video image consists of.

It uses that knowledge in conjunction with masking and motion tracking to remove backgrounds.

I have tried it myself and it is pretty accurate provided there is not too much motion and that motion is reasonable predictable.

A lot of the time it may still require that you go in and manually touch up a few parts of the removal process but overall it’s pretty impressive.

In comaprison to manually completing the task it’s like night and day!

Filmora has really turned on the afterburners with this new module!

You can go from video to text for editing or you can go from text to video using AI.

There is a lot to unpack so check out the video to see it all.

PowerDirector – Tips on Working with Anchor Points

Manipulating images or objects in PowerDirector can be kept pretty simple or made very complex.

Either way PowerDirector can handle it but if you are tending towards more complex motions then a great tool to understand and use is the Anchor Point tool.

It is a great way of having various objects move in relation to a main object or “point” without endlessly having to add keyframes to keep everything under control.
