Sora by OpenAI
OK so first up let’s all get past the clickbaity title of the video below and gain some perspective.
Up until now any videos generated by A.I. have been clearly created with A.I.
I mean some of them are very good but at the end of the day you can easily see what they are.
Well that all changed this week when Open.A.I. announced Sora which is their new video generation A.I. model.
At the moment it only produces 60 second clips but the quality and reality is pretty amazing however there has been no word on when anyone other than inside users will be able to get access.
Of course the usual cries of this being “the end of…(insert video related activity here)…” are abounding but in reality at the end of the day human creativity will always be the driving force regardless of the tools.
How To Start A Podcast On YouTube (Complete Guide!)
YouTube has offered the ability to start a podcast on that platform for a while now.
There are many, many other platforms where you can do that but if you are already using YouTube and are familiar with it then is may be a good solution for you.
In the video below you can see the steps you need to take and equipment you will need to get started.
On top of that the video itself gives some great insights into the things you should be doing outside of the recording and delivery platform you choose.
How to Mimic a Drone Flying Through a Title
This is an effect you can pull off in any video editor although it is demonstrated in PowerDirector here.
It is basically taking the perspective of the camera and zooming in on a scene that has text then continuing to zoom in through the text to original scene.
Try this RGB Stroke Effect in Filmora
The RGB effect is an effect that you will probably find in most video editing software these days.
If done right it can look kind of cool and if done wrong will look like a hot mess!
The video below demonstrates the effect as it occurs in Filmora but after checking a few other programs they all behave pretty much the same way.
As you will see there are a few parameters within the effect that you need to set to get it right.
5 EQ Mistakes That Ruin Your Audio – EQ Tutorial
This is a tutorial specifically on the subject of EQ and is well worth taking a look at.
Audio is always a bit of a battle when it comes to video editing and very much like color correction, it’s easy to get lost!
This tutorial is done using Adobe Audition but don’t be put off by that.
The Equalizer inside Audition looks like a million other Equalizers with the most important part being what to do and why you would do it.
How To Come Up With Better Ideas Than 99% Of YouTubers
The reality is that YouTube is changing.
Of course that’s a pretty easy statement to make and be right because YouTube never stopped changing!
Let me explain a little more.
One of the key metrics that YouTubers and YouTube itself watches carefully is viewer retention.
YouTube will reward channels and videos that score high in viewer retention.
Their reasoning is that the longer the viewer is watching the more opportunity YouTube has to screen ads… simple really.
Viewer retention is not just measured by how long the person watches your video.
It is measured by how long the person stays on the platform watching your videos, your other videos and other people’s videos.
Over the past few years a style of video editing evolved loosely termed as “retention” editing whereby a lot of action occurred on the screen throughout the video.
Mr. Beast was probably one of the more extreme examples of this with an onscreen event of some type occurring every 2 seconds.
All of that is beginning to change with audiences starting to drift towards a totally different style of editing and video presentation.
Multi-Language Audio is Changing YouTube
When you factor in that 70% of all YouTube traffic occurs outside of the United Sates it is easy to see why the ability to tap into that market is so important for growth.
Currently YouTube is investing in all sorts of crazy A.I. technology with their ultimate goal of being all content accessible to all users.
They know that removing the language barrier is the most important step in that process.
So to get all the latest on what’s happening and what will be happening check out the video below.
Make Your Own Plugins in Resolve – Animated Overlay Fusion Templates for Beginners
One of the cooler features in the vast array of other features in DaVinci Resolve is the ability to save all sorts of customizations as presets.
In reality many of the so-called “plugins” that you can use in Resolve from third parties are just saved preset customizations.
In the video below you can see how to do that from within the Fusion Page of Resolve but this is not the only place you can do that.
For example In the Edit Page you can add a Transform filter then save that as a custom filter in the same way.
Instantly Speed Up & Slow Down Video Clips – DaVinci Resolve
This is a down and dirty method for speeding up and slowing down clips in Resolve BUT!
Bear in mind that this is only suitable if you have a very simple timeline in front of you.
Any speed change is going to affect where any other clips or assets already on the timeline are positioned so keep that in mind.
Otherwise use the Ripple edit effect to make sure everything stays lined up.
