Adobe Winning Hearts as Only They Can!
Back in 2013 Adobe switched most of its products such as Premiere Pro and After Effects etc. over to a subscription based model.
Of course they are perfectly within their rights to move forward on a pricing model as they see fit.
However the “dirty” part of that move was that they did not announce this to anyone prior to the switch and they automatically changed existing users over to this model without any agreement or discussion.
That meant users who had paid for a perpetual license with paid upgrades suddenly found themselves on a subscription model!
Now don’t get me wrong here, I have no real problem with a subscription based model.
I actually think it drives innovation better and keeps the bug swatters on their toes because the user can just turn off the subscription and go elsewhere.
The problem I had with Adobe at that time was the way in which they kind of “jackbooted” their user base over on to the new model without consultation.
Underlying that move was a kind of “blackmail” element given the fact that medium to large creators of video content were “locked” into the Adobe eco system.
That meant they couldn’t really get out of it unless they reinvested in a totally new arrangement.
Recently it has come to light that within the Adobe End User Agreement some very disturbing clauses seem to have made their appearance.
The worst of which seems to be that Adobe retain the rights to use your content to train their A.I. models! How rude!
Anyway for a full explanation of the current situation check the video below.
4 Editing Tips Every Vlogger Needs to Know
Well I’m not sure that every vlogger needs to know this and I am also not sure whether it is only vloggers that need to know them either!

3 Simple Effect Film-Style Tutorial Video with Filmora 13 Mobile
As I have probably mentioned a number of time before, I never use mobile devices for editing videos.
To me it feels too limiting and I hate the idea of dealing with a tiny little screen with my ageing sausagelike fingers… I needs them wide open spaces!
Anyway I know some people do so here’s a video from Jacky on creating some film style effects using the Filmora Mobile App.
How YouTube Changed My Life in 8 Months
It is very easy when it comes to creating videos for places like YouTube to get a little too focussed on the technicalities.
I know for myself it is a constant battle to stop obsessing over details like the quality of the video or how the talent looks or the audio.
This mindset isn’t helped by the fact that most online tutorials on the subject tend to emphasize these types of points over and over.
The reality is that while these points have their importance, at the end of the day they are not the reason why people are going to watch your videos and follow your channel.
Youtube and similar platforms are above all else “Social Media” platforms with the stress on the word, “social.”
Successful channels make connections not just awesome wizzbang videos!
Basic Title Editing in the New User Interface
The interface of CyberLink PowerDirector underwent a pretty drastic update about a year ago.
For new users this was kind of meaningless because they are… well… new!
For old users there were a few tears before bedtime because let’s face it, when you finally get something under control it is a pain when it gets changed.
The reality was that PowerDirector had to have this update.
For years they were adding new features and controls with it all of being tacked on to the existing interface.
Ultimately what started off as one of the best interfaces around ended up as a bit of a dog’s breakfast.
One of the most feature rich aspects of PowerDirector is the titling module which even back in the day was one of the best around.
These days it is an absolute beast but! There is an enormous amount of controls and settings you can adjust within that module and for me the best way to get to know the new interface is to go back to basics.
Elevate Your Video Edit with B-Roll & Sound FX in DaVinci Resolve
This is a good example of taking a few simple effects and capabilities found in almost any video editing software and making something good.
The process shown in the video below is done in DaVinci Resolve but Resolve is not the key difference here.
In fact the motion tracking step can either be done manually or automatically in a bunch of other programs.
What really is important here is what Daniel speaks about at the beginning of the clip. Having an idea!

The video I have featured below is from MrAlexTech on how to edit in Resolve more efficiently but bear in mind that only one of many.
I will put a link here for you to check out the full playlist of ResolveCon video sessions.
