Well this is an absolutely huge resource from the people over at Premiumbeat.com that covers… well… everything!
It pretty much starts at the exposure triangle, moves through how to choose the right camera, takes a detour past the various types of shots and finally ends up at gear and audio.
Not sure that they missed anything there!
It’s a good read read because each subject is covered quite well without going techno-crazy so that it all gets a bit overwhelming.
The Big Amazon Review Scam
I came across this video the other day and though it would be a timely reminder to all of us on the subject of getting information on the internet.
The type of information I am most interested in here is when you are checking reviews for products as part of your decision making process.
There are lots of places to get that kind of information and read lots of reviews that are either user generated or from professional reviewers in a subject.
The key to this kind of information is to first understand who is writing the review and why they are doing it.
For example someone writes a bad review of some product online after having had a bad experience with that product.
On the surface that seems perfectly reasonable.
However over the years I have found that by digging a little deeper a whole world of extra information comes to light.

The video below exposes a fairly widespread scam that happens quite regularly on Amazon but don’t get the idea that Amazon is the only place it is happening!

CyberLink posted this guide the other day and I was at first a little skeptical about it.
However after reading it I changed my mind as it really is quite a good basic guide to getting started on YouTube and setting off on the right foot.
It is by no means a complete guide nor does it cover any of the more advanced subjects you would have to cover once you were set up.
The real value is that it covers only those things you need to do to get started and nothing that you would at a later date have to go back and change or fix.

Not sure really how often anyone is going to come across anamorphic footage but if you do then this is the video for you!
Personally after ten years of doing this I have never needed to know this but hey… early days yet!
