TikTok is Getting Banned?…maybe
Well I guess the biggest political/technical/corporate/national security issue on the radar in the world of video right now is TikTok.
The question is whether or not the U.S. Government will be carrying out their threatened ban on TikTok or Bytedance the company that own and run TikTok.
For me personally I don’t really care! I don’t use TikTok but there is another problem raised by all of this.
Bytedance also creates CapCut the video editing software and App and an overall ban on Bytedance would mean a bunch of pain for a lot of creators who are using that software.
You can check the video below for a longer and more measured summation on the whole deal but here’s what I think.
The chances are that there won’t be a ban because the U.S legislators are probably just trying to leverage some power over Bytedance to make sure user data is kept secure.
Even if they do action the ban on Bytedance I am sure Bytedance already has a plan in place to spin off the CapCut portion of the business into a separate entity to keep that income stream safe.
So in the end it’s probably all much ado about nothing but we shall see how it plays out.
YouTube Channel Name Ideas – How To Choose Your YouTube Name!
There is a seemingly endless array of tiny little details these days for when it comes to dealing with YouTube channels and making them successful.
Individually there is no single factor that will either guarantee success or failure.
If you don’t add tags to your videos that will not cause a total failure by itself.
If you do add tags it will not ensure success either.
Should you add appropriate tags to indicate to the algorithm the contents of your video? Yes!
The same goes for the name of your YouTube channel.
Should you pick a good name? Yes!
Will you fail if you don’t? No!
It is attending to ALL of things that you can exercise control over that will help you become successful, not just one or a few of them.
Here are some tips on choosing a good channel name and why you should do it.
How to Create a Fire in a Fireplace – PowerDirector
OK so maybe you are not really wanting to create a fire in a fireplace but stick with us, we are going somewhere with this one!
This is essentially an exercise in overlaying footage over other footage and using a mask to fine tune the effect to make it work.
However it also covers the handling of mis-matching motion within the two assets being used so as to sell the effect better.
Stop Using These Video-Editing Trends (2025) – Movavi Vlog
Over the past year or so there has been a shift in what viewers are engaging with especially when it comes to online platforms like YouTube etc.
Video editing tends to follow trends to some degree and very often these are dictated by the technology that becomes available.
As the technology evolves, new “looks” or styles become possible then they become all the rage.
However quite often these trends fade out as the audience become accustomed to them and soon tire.
Here’s a rundown on a few of these trends that have pretty much run their course and should perhaps be put on the backburner for a while.
How to Create Unique Motion Graphics Like A Pro
I think most people editing within your average video editing software these days is going to be aware of what a keyframe is.
Along with masking I think that keyframing is one of the most important developments in consumer video editing over the past few years.
It probably doesn’t get as much attention as it should because it’s not really all that sexy unto itself.
Not exactly what could be described as a marketers dream feature to pump those sales!
However also along with masking it is one of those skills that if you master rather than just use occasionally you can lift yourself way above the average.
Here’s a slightly unusual take on using keyframes with graphics and even if the end product is not what you are looking for the skills are very important.
How to Crop Video Tutorial – Filmora 14 Tutorial For Beginners
There are a few ways to crop a video using Filmora depending on whether you want to crop a specific clip or an entire timeline.

Why YouTube Algorithms May Not Notice Your Channel? (Update 2025)
If you are just starting or are at least relatively new to posting videos on YouTube there is a little housekeeping you need to get under control first.
At the top of the list is an understanding of how the YouTube algorithms work and what their actual purpose is.
The more unsuccessful and jaded within that community like to claim that the algorithm is trying to destroy their lives but that’s just silly!
All those algorithms are trying to do is to serve up content to the viewer so that the viewer stays on the platform consuming more and more content… that’s it.
No conspiracies, no secret agendas just one simple concept.
Keep the viewer on the platform as long as possible to serve up as many Ads as possible to make as much money as possible.
Here’s rundown of what you need to be doing currently.
Color Nodes for NOOBS! – DaVinci Resolve LIVE Training
There are two key components within the overall arsenal of tools inside DaVinci Resolve.
The reason these two are key is because they were the original modules upon which Resolve was based prior to it becoming an all round video editing solution.
Up until the editing and rendering modules were added Resolve was basically the industry standard for coloring and compositing.
They were handled by the Color Page and the Fusion Page respectively.
Because they are fully professional modules they can both seem quite daunting although the Fusion Page is by far the winner in that competition!
The video below is probably everything you need to know from soup to nuts for when it comes to the color page.
Be warned that because the Color Page is aimed at professional use is is not perhaps as user friendly as color correction tools in more basic software.
However it really doesn’t take too much to get a grip on it especially if you follow along with someone like Daniel Batal who has a knack for making the complex seem easy.
