The first thing that you need to do with your phone is get it steady by using a clamp or a jury rig.
There are also stop motion apps like Stop Motion Studio that can give you green screen capabilities and advanced editing options as well.
You’ll need to set up a background and the actual piece that will be in motion.
Obviously make sure your phone is charged or plugged in before recorded and wear black to prevent reflection during the animation.
Continuous lighting is also important to keep the same level of brightness/color.
- While using your phone to do Stop Motion animation, you will need to get it atop what you are animating and keep it as steady as possible.
- A simple clamp, which should not cost more than twenty dollars, should allow you to do the necessary holding and steadying.
- Plug in some old iPhone headphones, or some earbuds, use the volume control, and that can serve as your remote shutter.
